Halloween(ish) Weekend
I had friends visit this weekend and we all decided to go to a Halloween Party. Not too many people were dressed up in costume, which is decidedly wrong. Everyone should feel free to dress up in some stupid costume they bought at Ricky’s. Otherwise what is the fun in Halloween? Why are there so many Ricky’s all over the city if people are not going to appreciate them for the horrendous and/or “sexy” costumes they offer? At least the Halloween Parade offers a LOT of costumes to par take in. I don’t go to the Parade anymore though, so I can say if you do go is bring Mace (or a mace).
As fans of the Mighty Boosh, my roommate and I decided to dress up as some minor characters, Old Gregg and Naboo. The Old Gregg costume far surpassed the Naboo costume as I just looked like one of the three wiseman on his way to see the baby Jesus.
I also saw The Prestige this weekend which was really fantastic. Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman were great, and Scarlett Johansson didn’t ruin the movie like she usually does in anything post Ghost World.
To cap off the weekend, I saw Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter at Irving Plaza. SO FUNNY! David Wain and Paul Rudd made special appearances (and did a duet from Les Miserables) and Showalter and Black’s stand up was great.
